The
Ancient Incas, to connect the administrative
part of the Empire, centered in Cuzco,
to the religious one, located in Machu
Picchu, constructed a trail paved with
worked rocks on the Andean Mountains,
to facilitate that communication, commonly
made by messengers.
With the discovery of Machu Picchu,
in the beginning of the last century,
the Inca Trail has become into the most
international trekking in South America:
people, from all over of the world,
wants to cross it, on the same way done
by The Ancient Incas before, usually
crossing the 43 km in four days of walking.
Today, the Inca Trail is located inside
an official and protected government
area called The Historical Sanctuary
of Machu Picchu. Beyond the biodiversity
of the this Park, the visitor is able
to find many archaeological sites, that
once served for military and shelter
reasons.
Lots of beauty, clouds, ruins on top
of high mountains and mistery are seen
when you cross the Inca Trail to reach
Machu Picchu on the classic way.
