The
majority of photos about Machu Picchu
shows a beautiful mountain on the background,
like a sentinel protecting the lost
city. This mountain is called Huayna
Picchu.
As you climb to the peak of about 2700
m., a hard and dangerous climbing, you
can rediscover the archaeological site
of Machu Picchu having different views
from the opposite side.
On the very top, some surprises are
waiting for you, like an ancient temple
made by Incas in a totally inhospitable
place. You have the impression that
those ruins are attached to the abysm.
You can also contemplate the beatiful
Andean Mountain Range in its subtropical
part, and see the Urubamba River crossing
its valley.
