Caconde
is a city of the interior of the State
of São Paulo that possesses natural
attractions as virgin forests, rivers,
waterfalls and green valleys which make
the region able to be a place of contact
with the Nature and to the practical
of diverse sports as rafting, cascading
and trekking.
The Pardo River is the great wealth
of Caconde. It is a river of great volume,
clean, wide and pretty, whose edges
still possess many adjacent bushes and
whose waters possess constant level,
favours to the control exerted for the
local eletrical plant. The city is privileged
for sheltering the glorious Pardo River.
With the construction of the Plant,
a great extensive dam was also formed
in the region
The city, situated in the Mountain Range
of the Mantiqueira, possesses some culminating
points that allow panoramic views of
its green landscapes. At the end of
the afternoon, you can go up by car
to the Square of the Mirador, whose
construction, inspired by mystical symbologies,
offers an aerial vision of all the dam.
Rafting in the Pardo River, cascading
in the Waterfall of Santa Quitéria,
walking on the original and old Pardo
Riverbed are the main activities you
can do.
